We have big ones in our lake St. Lucia estuary were they swim quite happily with the bull sharks, but it's not a place I would dive. Richard. |

I haven't researched it, but it is my impression that alligators do not grow as large as some crocodiles, but they do grow large enough to be a problem. Two meter gators are pretty common and I seem some considerably larger than that. The one on the bank beside the cypress trees was about 3 meters long, give or take a bit. The one in the water was about 1 1/2 meters long. Lee |
