Because it's Wikipedia, which is ugly.
Our Wiki would be cool and have the Scuba Guide logo on it.

It's all about cool and logos.

Right on.

Facetiousness aside we are building a place where scuba knowledge
accumulates. the giant gear review directory is a step toward that goal. Not
a general encyclopedia of everything under the sun - just SCUBA and nothing
but SCUBA. A wiki was suggested as one of the ways to accomodate that.
