I'd say get the training done in a school here on weekends and then go to
the Red Sea and dive. When you finish the course and just go dive you will
so kick yourself for spending time doing drills for days "when I could have
been doing this all week???"

Then get AOW and discover live-aboards.

so kick yourself for spending time doing drills for days "when I could have
been doing this all week???"
