Regards Celia Day Most of it would be OK but the suits are not diving suits, they are designed for surface use and would not therefore work at any depth. The shorties could be OK for learning in a pool but not a lot else but Decathlon sell diving shorties for about the same price. For other things:- Boots - if they fit then they will be fine, quality does vary but not by much Fins - They are going to be OK but nothing more, but for £13 you will not go far wrong Torch - forget it, only rated to 30m so it's quality is not going to be good Rattle - forget it, most divers hate them Mask - If it fits then it is worth buying (if it fits buy at least two for £10), if it does not fit then it is not. Fit is the ONLY criteria when buy a mask. To check, put on with the strap in front of lens rather than on back of head. Breath in gently through nose, if it sticks firmly to face then it is OK if not then forget it. If in doubt leave. pack sack - could be OK but you don't really need it signal light - I would not bother You don't mention other things:- Net bag (goody bag is what they tend to get called) - buy a couple, they are always handy for keeping things together on boats etc. Dive knife - get one, it will not be great quality but for a fiver you can afford to throw it away after a year Gloves - Even if you mainly plan on diving abroad it is worth having a pair. Snorkel - unless you have one you will need one for training Surface Marker Buoy - If your daughter plans UK diving get one at that price HTH -- Pete diving 'at' melbourne 'dot' me 'dot' uk |
