| Guys, Anyone know a dive shop that will change a neck seel in less than a week within an hour's drive of Andover? My neck seel has started to go and I got a bit damp yesterday. I'd like to replace it before next Sunday. I've been quoted 3 weeks by my LDS, 2 weeks by Solent Divers, 1 Week by Andark and Vobster. <rant> I must admit I'm a bit P*****d off. I very much agree with the idea of support your LDS but it seems my LDS isn't supporting me. I don't think it's unreasonable to turn round a neck seal in 5 or 6 days?? I mean this must be a regular problem during the summer? For all the service I get I might as well buy on the internet. </rant> Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah that's much better. Regards, Ron. |

| > I don't think it's unreasonable to turn round a neck seal in 5 or 6 days?? Nope, most of the shops out there do appear to be fairly useless at doing anything to do with drysuits. I wanted a neck seal changed a couple of weeks ago, Stoney said it'd be 3 weeks and that the express service wasn't available anymore. Half the other shops I called round said that they just sent their suits up to Stoney anyway so couldn't do anything any quicker. There's a BIG gap in the market certainly in the midlands for someone who can do basic drysuit repairs in a short timeframe - certainly until Hydrotech / Stoney get more staff who can do it. > For all the service I get I might as well buy on the internet. Not necessarily a bad idea, even for a neck seal change. I ended up sending my suit up to Scotland to get the seal changed - back to Gates / Hunter. They turned my suit around in under a week, and didn't turn out any more expensive than if one of the local shops could have done it that quick. I know Deep Blue (Newcastle) generally offer very quick service too, so you might be able to send it off up there although as you won't get it in the post til tomorrow you'd be pushing it now. Don't know of anywhere local to you. David |

I was just a PADI diver and then I drifted into my local BSAC club to share a drink and a yarn. Four years later they have turned me into a DL and an instructor, I tow the RIBs (and drive them), in theory I'm setting up a Wreck survey and getting involved in far more diving than any sane man would do. You have been warned. nigelH |

I won't be there this week but some of them are quite friendly and even house trained so someone should speak to you!! We have several ex-PADI on the books, who either crossed over to a BSAC qualification or just dive with us. Have a look at our web site, www.a-sac.org.uk for details of where we are and what we do. I only dive in warm water too. I refuse to break ice to go diving. Ron. |

Thanks for that. BSAC have it listed as: http://www.asac.fsnet.co.uk/ which didn't work. -- David Mahon |
