I think by 'Thesis' McBad meant the idear behind your question, rather than
publishing your whole final peice of work - which is of course in the public
domain once you submit it, so shouldn't contain any confidential info
(Thesis has at least two meanings in English).

I personaly haven't used a buddy line - I've got two, but in most situations
one might be appropriate, I'd rather not do a recreational dive. Good luck
with your studies!
