VISA price in Sharm

Off to Sharm again next week, too good a deal to pass up - flights + 10
days in 4 star hotel for £200 !

Is the VISA price in airport still £10 or is it better to pay in US$
or Euro ... if so how much ?

Also anybody know the aprox price of a taxi to Ras Um El-Sid, transfers
not included on this break.

A taxi that trip shuld cost you something like 40-50 egyptian pounds.
But the taxi drivers are greedy, so you should be ready to pay something
list 70-100 egyptian pounds for th trip, specially depending on the
amount of passengers.

£20. (thats 20 GBP)

Seemed to be the going rate for a taxi anywhere last time I flew there
(this summer) The money was taken by the "boss" then you had to tip the
taxi driver.

Since they have you by the short & curlys there isn't much room for
negotiation - even the dive guides I spoke with who spoke arabic had
trouble beating them down to under 130LE ...

so $15 is best bet at current exchange rate it's aprox £8

Or be ready to haggle.

I got back yesterday from a week in the Renaissance Golden View
on Ras Um Sid (right next to the lighthouse).

Taxis readily available from Ras Um Sid for 30 LE without haggling.
Taxis back - drivers are a bit cheekier but 40 is the most you should
pay. Just make sure you have the right fare in your pocket.

No way should you ever have to pay 100 LE !

I stayed at that Hotel in April - it is really good.
This time stayed in Mexicana - not as good as Renaissance, but as we
were diving all day each day and SWMBO was not with me it didn't matter.
