Some interesting points in that thread ..

Crazy thing is ... insurance does not cover kit if it is unattended ... or
if in use, so the only time it is covered is when it is with you but not in
use. ??

My loss was a camera, I was underwater at the time but not taking a picture
.... so was this 'not in use'

My buddy had a bit of a medical drama underwater, I needed to sort this out
& get his buoyancy correct - he was heading down fast & in immense pain.
Sorted it, controlled buoyancy for both us until he could safely then
surface (with normal procedures) ... he was OK afterwards, but during this
my camera became detached from BCD clip.

OK ... focus was correctly on him, and glad he is alright ... and I thought
I would be OK, as I have a full comprehensive dive policy ... but it seems
not.

I guess I could try claim for personal items not in use, and see if they
will allow this ?
