Default Hard boat costs

As everyone has noticed the price of diesel is going through the roof.
This price rise will in itself push up the prices for next year. However
in addition to this boats are also allowed to use red diesel. I have
spoken to a skipper that I am using next year and he confirmed that
there are planns in place to stop the use of red diesel. There seem to
be 2 schools of thought that say this will happen either in Feb 2006, or
Nov 2006.

To give you some idea of the scale of this. Just over a year ago red
diesel could be bought for 18 to 20 pence per litre, and it is now 38 to
44 pence. Remove the red diesel and skippers are looking at £1 per litre
at current prices.

Our dives are going to get even more expensive. Add to the equasion the
possible hike in the cost of helium...... lets not go there.

Steve
