Maui/Hawaii Island - snorkel advice

Hi, - hope this is an okay group to post this....

As a newbie here, and to snorkling, I wonder if some of you would have
advice. I have checked out a lot of the Maui dive web pages and came
up with three or four locations that look good (easy and safe). I am
new to snorkeling but have always been a good swimmer - competed in
Water Polo in College, did long distance swims - but am older now and
know I have to tone down the activity a bit. I will be on the Big
Island for 10 days (with a car) and on Maui, Ma'alaea, for 7 days
(with a car) -

Any good locations to rent equipment for my wife (I have my own mask,
fins, snorkel), are disposable cameras worth it? Do I need a dive
flag? Any other advice? Any other equipment?
