Keys are not really a day trip from Bradenton but more of a 2 day one
night affair. Jupiter dive shop could be a one day event (Great drift
dives). You have to cut across on a 2 laner and catch lunch then a PM
dive and then home by 9PM.
Ship wrecks (artificial reefs) are best in Fort Lauderdale If you have
non-divers with you, they can explore the shopping jungle or the FLL
Beach (shopping AND the beach and 5 minutes from the dive boat
departure) while you dive. Undersea sports can set you up on a Port
Everglades (FLL) departure. 954-564-8661 FLL is best reached by 75 to
595. Port Everglades is an easier departure point from 595

Leave extra time for traffic(This isn't Bradenton) If you are spending
the night and want a clean inexpensive hotel with the best waterfront
bar and a good restaurant... try Bahia Cabana in Fort Lauderdale

Hi everybody,

this year our vacation is a family visit in Bradenton - Florida.
Bradenton is located just below Tampa, west coast.
We want to fit in a day or two of diving. Since this isn't much, we're not
feeling like wandering around to find a nice spot to dive.
Any sugestions? We hire a car, so west, east or south is within reach.

Thanks,

Leo & Freya
