| Hi All, I have been in FL since 4 years, but I haven't been to lobster catching yet. Could you suggest some good lobster places for snorkeling/diving near Central Florida area? Cheers, Adam |

| Do a web search for Kissimmee Pro Dive Center. They have a dive trip that is open for mini season. Other than that, most nuts like me go to the Keys for mini season. I have been meaning to hook up with someone around the Orlando area that knows the diving off Cocoa as the lobster are more plentiful and larger there..........but it would not be the same as the Keys. | Lobstering in the Keys this season is going to be sparse....I see very very few lobsters on the reefs anymore. > Drive to the Keys and become part of the madness like the rest of us... -- Jim Wyatt PADI Master Instructor #4612/IANTD Instructor Florida Keys Reef-Divers, Inc. www.reef-divers.com |

I maintain that using a boat is the most effective way to go (and if you see a 15' Whaler w/a bowrail and bimini top that'll be me) but, these folks go right from the beach. http://www.irishmansoftware.com/beach_2.htm I just laugh at the people who pass these places in order to get totally ripped off in SE FL and the Keys while, maybe catching little, teenie, tiny bugs. -- SJM |

| Nice webpage Scott. The Keys for me is just something I have done every year for so long that I would miss it if I did not go and jump in with the rest of the nuts. Besides the beers just seem to taste better at that lattitude. I sure hope Capt. Wyatt is just trying to scare us off with his statement about slim pickens. Jim, I'll let you know how we do off Islamorada. Cant be any worse than two years ago...........I hope. Cant be any worse than two years ago...........I hope. I hope you do well...I am not just trying to scare divers off///That would be counterproductive for me & my business. But, not during mini-season or any other "holiday" weekend. I've found the -best- time to visit there, is right after Labor Day. The place is practically deserted. I refer to these "beach" dives (the link I posted) as "meat" dives because neither the fish life, or the viz, can even begin compare to the Keys or SE FL. You are simply after dinner. However, once you get into some deeper (60-80fsw) water (which is just one of the many reasons you really need a boat to "do it right" pretty good (and the hunting even better). > I sure hope Capt. Good Luck and have a cold one at the Tiki bar at Holiday Isle for me as I'll be stuck up here. -- SJM |
