Until 1.) there are no more jackasses who can't refrain from clicking on
attachments, 2.) until the jackasses stop clicking on attachments, or 3.)
you get rid of your computer . Yep, I'd say that just about covers it.
I don't expect any of those things to happen any time soon.

I suspect that it will stop in a few billion years about 8-10 minutes after
the sun goes supernova...

All it takes is somebody who is not a particularly sophisticated computer
user, particularly for this virus. The Microsoft screen that accompanies it
looks quite authentic. For what it's worth, this one is also being spread
via peer to peer sharing, Grokster, Morphius, etc. and as a screen saver.
It would not surprise me to find the virus is related to the music industry
which, as most know, is trying very hard to stop peer to peer sharing
systems. Poor babies are only making a few million a day instead of making
a few more.

At 500 you're doing well. I get more than 300 PER DAY. When the worm
first hit I was getting 2,000 per day. Now it's dropping quickly. Not
quickly enough, but quickly. I filter out all of it at the server level
so nothing gets downloaded into my computer, but it still takes 5
minutes to check a couple of hundred messages to pick out the real ones.

My isp did something about this. Why hasn't yours?

I thought you were more invincible than this <g>.

It's nice to hear from you again, Steve.

Totally invincible. (though Kryptonite 'might' get through...) Not a
single one got through to my own computer! Everything was stopped at the
server level. I already had the spam block in place on my server before
the worm hit. It was just a matter of annotating a couple of filter
rules. There is a secondary fire wall as well as a daily updated
anti-virus program on my computers as well. I can't afford any computer
down time. I have too many deadlines to meet each month these days.
