I was going to write up a trip report but... :) Hey, your report says it all and y'all know that I hate to write trip reports. Just following your links tells me all I need to know. :) At any rate, I'll add a few things. I was most impressed with Captain Don Jose and his choice to move us where he thought we needed to be. We were surrounded by 2 hurricanes. How many times are you faced with 2 hurricanes while you're on a liveaboard ?? He was dancing on the seas. He knew it. He moved us to be safe. And he also moved us to get some good diving in. You can't say a bad word about a Captain who does that. I know he was worried at one point. I saw the look in his eyes when he was watching the waves break over the rocks at one of our dive sites. I know that he plotted out every move after that. And I know that if he thought we couldn't make those seas, he'd had brought us right back in. He is a good Captain...one of the best I've seen in my humble experience. The other thing that you didn't mention is that the boat itself is pretty dang stable. We were in some rocking waters but the boat was secure. There wasn't any way-ward sides motion or cressing of waves. The boat was very sea-worthy. Ok... that having been said, I'm still trying to talk my hub and my friends into diving with y'all next year. They say... "We aren't doing a Blackbeards on the Sea of Cortez." :PP They are spoiled brats. They dont' know what they're missing Ken. I love diving that area with you and I've not been dissappointed with what creatures we have seen. Damn... the 200 cow rays that you and I saw under the boat was worth the whole week this year !! Kevin found 2 frog fish. How lucky is that ??!! The multitude of sea life we encounter on each dive there. Yes. I love your store trip. It's planned to the inth. I show up and that's all I need to do. Your shop (you) takes care of everything !! This year was my second Sea of Cortez trip with you on the Don Jose. I will be back next year, if you'll have me. Your trip is planned to satisify the serious diver. 24 or 26 dives in one week... I'm there. |
