Default Best snorkeling in the Caribbean?

My wife and I are avid snorkelers. We would like to go to an
all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean. After snorkeling for one week
in Polynesia last year, we would like to find a place which offers the
same quality of snorkeling (a large variety of coral, fish, and other
marine life). We are not the kind of people who like just to sit on
the beach. We would like to go to a resort which either provides at
least twice a day snorkel boat trips or have excellent snorkeling
nearby off shore. We do not want just a white sand bottom with some
fish swimming by. The cost of the resort is not as important and the
snorkeling quality. I have heard that Club Med Columbus is suppose to
fit my needs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Check out Bonaire! It's nothing but nice people, dive resorts, and awesome
snorkeling. Great snorkeling right off-shore in many locations. And if you
get tired of that, take a kayak over to Klein Bonaire and snorkel some more
in crystal-clear pristine waters. And on land, the whole north of the
island is a bea-utiful national park.

I went on the cheap, but if you're looking for resorts, there are plenty
there, each catering to different tastes. I loved the food at Lion's
Something, and it looked like a nice place to stay too. Captain Don's gets
a lot of positive reviews too, I think. I liked Eden resort for it's beach
bar (one of the only beaches and one of the only bars on the island). All
three of those have good snorkeling sites right from the hotel. Just walk
into the water.

Smith's is O.K. (Provo), but right next to the deep channel for boats top
enter & exit Turtle Cove. Get into any number of boats available for a fee
and snorkle the reef off shore of Grace Bay and you'll be pleased. I have
been there several years in a row, and have made the swim from the beach
across to the reef (take 1/2 hour so swim). Water is so warm in summer I
stayed out there 2 hours, only coming in because I was thirsty (funny,
surrounded by water).

Have fun where ever you go..........DON'T TOUCH the reef
