Default Recommednations - Big Island Dive Shops

Any thoughts between Jacks Diving in Kona and Kohala Divers further
north particulalry for a beginner and a referral certification. There
appears to be quite a difference in price for them also (Jack's $275
and Kohala Divers $350). This will be in late March so comments on
conditions between their likely dive spots at the end of winter
conditions would be appreciated.

Much thanks

Try Sandwich Isle Divers. Small boat, full shop, personal service, been there
for 20+yrs. They can help you with site selection when you get there.

I did the Manta Ray dive with Jacks Diving Locker last October. Eight divers
and 19 Manta Rays. Need I say more? The most fun you can have with a wet
suit on!

Can't comment on the latter but Jacks are great. For myself I find there
"Classic" trips not my cup of tea but they really are all very nice people.
I'm sure they'd be good people to do a referral with. I've dove with them on
two trips & they were great both times. If you get a dive or two under your
belt after you get certified do the manta ray night dive. I'm off to Kona
next week & will hopefully be doing their blue water night dive thing. Good
luck.

I did the Manta Ray dive with Jacks diving locker a couple years ago. Had a
blast! Very well run dive shop. I would definitely dive with them again.
