By the way, I found Bali very exotic. Loved it there. Parts of it are
absolutely stunning.

You jest. Was there a week ago. Sucks big time!

Easter Island!!! THAT's the answer for your quest.

Plan to be there soon. It's 2000 miles from nowhere,
with BIG stone statues that baffled both the living and the dead.

What more can you ask for, around EASTER? ))

Can anyone speak which is more visually beautiful (tropical paradise,
white beaches, palms, etc etc), Rarotonga and the Cook Islands, or the
Maldives ? Preferably someone who has been to both...

Thank you
Jack

Jack, been to both.
Maldives are magnificent BUT you will be on a SMALL resort island ( the kind
ya' can walk around in 30 minutes max...)
Depending on which island there will be a lot / nothing to do except swim,
eat and snorkel - my idea of paradise.
Rarotonga is MUCH larger than any resort island you'll stay on in the
Maldives, and I must say not that spectacular. I would DEFINETLY say that
the diving/snorkelling/swimming in the Maldives is GALAXYS better then the
Cook islands as well...
Now to watch the flame war start - oh well my opinion.

You mean the Fakatahuna Pass of Fakarava of the Tuamotu Islands
Group of French Polynesia?

No top side attraction, at all! :^)
