Unless you live in some non consumeristic universe, yes, it is your money.
The media is about advertising, advertising is about selling products. Media
outlets pay for and develope programing so they can sell advertising during
those programs. The cost of the progam development effects the cost of the
advetising. The cost of the advertising is passed on to...YOU, the consumer.
In a capitolist economy, the consumer pays for everything.

Since Discovery is a cable/satellite only channel, you pay for it even
if you NEVER buy anything from an advertiser on the show.
