Default Bodega Bay incident?

Someone on a plane Sunday told me that an abalone diver was taken by a
shark, presumably a great white, in Bodega Bay (CA, ~50 miles north of
San Francisco) on Saturday. Anyone else hear about it?

The one whose head was bitten off, or is this another one?

No new one has been reported here. They did finally find the head of the victim
off Fort Bragg area (well north of Bodega) recently.

He was a skin diver wasn't he? I thought abalone could not be taken while on
scuba.

Yep. Part of the California Great White Shark Dental Protection Act of
1996.

Could have been. The guy who told me about it had read about it but was
not a diver. He did mention abalone, but he wouldn't have known the
diff between a skin diver and a scuba diver.

Here are some details:

What kind of details are those? It doesn't even include the crucial one:
"They didn't find Fry's body until Monday. The head was missing, severed by
the shark."
