HTML shouldn't be in e-mail (although I realize I'm fighting a losing battle here), but it's absolutely wrong in Usenet. Combined newsreader/e-mail clients that encourage HTML, especially one that is likely to be used by the most netiquette challenged Usenet participants, are most kindly described as "regrattable." |

OE is also Javascript enabled by default. Which is a bad thing since MS' version is broken and doesn't handle sandboxing real well. -- dillon "When the French are against it, you know we can't be far wrong." - Adm. Bobbie Ray Inman |

When I'm on Solaris, I still use Mozilla for newsreading (and pine for e-mail), but that's just because I'm lazy and it isn't worth finding a better newsreader for a platform where I rarely spend time on Usenet. Try xrn. It's a bit resource intensive (being X based), but it's really pretty neat. One feature I like is that you can have NG based sigs. So my sig for rec.scuba.locations would be different than my sig for rec.autos.sport.f1.moderated. Right now all my Linux boxes are dedicated to non-interactive functions. > >Alan -- dillon "When the French are against it, you know we can't be far wrong." - Adm. Bobbie Ray Inman |
