You will have about a half hour drive from town, but it's worth it. Here is my trip report from my Key West trip http://www.pathcom.com/~bracuk/Trips...loridaKeys.htm Enjoy. I've gotten my PADI Advanced and Nitrox through them while vacationing there. They've got a good staff and the boat never seems very crowded. If you can go up the keys 30 minutes, I also recommend Looe Key Divers. They dive on Looe Key, duh, and do a once-a-day 3-tank dive where Southpoint does a morning/afternoon 2-tank dive. If there's one dive shop in Key West I stay away from it's Captain's Corner Divers. I went diving with them and ended up in some waters that had a lot of current and no vis. When I voiced my complain on shore the owner just shrugged and said, "I'm sure they wouldn't have put you in the water if it wasn't safe.". Not a good response from a trip where the dive master got lost underwater and buddy teams were surfacing separately since they kept losing each other. Oh, and they also had a class of five doing their PADI OW open dives (I was just glad everyone came out of the water ok). Randy P.S. Don't forget to check out the Divers Direct store in KW. Definitely a candy store for divers! :O) |
