Default Maui diving, shore diving? Kapalua dive co?

We'll be staying near the Kapalua Dive Co. I understand they do shore
dives daily. How are they as an operation?

For boat dives, the hotel mentioned Extended Horizon and Lahaina
Divers.

My dive buddy is pretty new, and we won't be seeking out anything
nutty. We're basically cold weather refugees that get to dive one
vacation a year, and not looking for an adrenaline rush. Point
us to something shallow with something neat to look at, and we'll be
plenty happy. 8-)

Any recommendations welcome!

Best Regards,

Are the other operators in Lahina really that bad?

There was one other operator out of Lahina that I used once. "Ocean
Adventures" or something like that. They were alright. I tried looking
them up last time I was over there but couldn't find them so maybe they no
longer exist. What I remember most about them is that they used 20ft RIBs.
We dove the Cathedrals off Lana'i from them. The morning trip across the
channel was no problem (seldom is) but coming back that afternoon... I've
spent some time at sea in small boats but I have never been so damn scared
in my life. I was being thrown right and left while holding on for dear
life. Half the time I couldn't see land because of the size of the waves.
And the Owner ... he was happier than a pig in sh!t. He said it reminded
him of his time as a SEAL in 'Nam. LOL

As someone once pointed out, if eveyone who claimed to be a SEAL had
really been one, it certainly wouldn't be an elite and exclusive unit.

We did the Cathedrals and one other dive with Central Pacific many
years ago. Evening/ night dive. The ride back had half the pax
trying to puke over a rail and not get tossed into the ocean.

We were in Maui in February...most of our dives were the Ed, few with
Mike...both excellent..in fact we had some folks join us who went out of
Lahina (didn't catch name of operator) and were really upset with the
operator - cattle boat, 35 min in water time,no exceptions argggg...

Ed and Mikes boats and folks were excellent and a lot of fun...

All the dive sites were great..but favorites were back wall Molikini and
catherdrals.....least favortie was the inside of Molikini...all other dives
excellent...

Miss it and cant wait to go back...

I was wrong, it's not a forgery, just an asswipe.

Not sure, maybe it's 20 years diving with Mike.

You've been Mike's DM for 20 years...? That does end this conversation.
