Hugh Huntzinger the plagiariser, name-smearer, ... EXPOSED

This is a REVISED posting of a subthread, within a rec.scuba

H. Huntzinger, the Army peon who asked Bob Ling for the archives of
published NED (back in 1993), stole and plagiarist Bob Ling's original
NED FAQ (circa 1994) , published his plagiarized versions on webpages
without acknowledgement, and used the posting name of Hugh (NED)
Huntzinger to mislead people into thinking that he actually had the
NED (Network of Egghead Divers) HUMOR and NED spirit.

written by Tony Kuhlman, whom I appointed as the NED Committee
Chairman, with Diane Palme and myself as Committee Members.
The items 0, 1, 2. 3, ... 6 were written by ME, verbatim, and
it appeared in the preliminary and about 110 lines of this first
version 1.10.

Hugh asked to be put on the Committee, after the FAQ was already
finished and contributed to items 7, 8, 9 (about 25 lines)
of that FAQ.

Hugh was never a figurative "Egghead" as folks in academia are. The
Founder (one who called himself the "Founding Farter of NED") was an
academic prof.

cheers, adulation). For the Newbies, a FAQ is a list of Frequently
Asked
Questions. I sent this directly to Earl when he recently sent a
request. For
the benefit of the newbies who have found us, I'm sending it to the
list. You
old NEDheads, go easy on the newbies. I heard reference of death by
e-mail;
let's have none of that. (maiming via the internet is allowed though,
if you
can do it anonymously and without leaving identifying marks)

MORE Historical FACToid:

Hugh then declared himself "Hugh INED) Huntzinger" as if he was the
person
behind both the formation of NED and the NED FAQ, when he had neither
the
NED humor/spirit, nor honesty to be even considered a NED today, while
most of US NEDs were driven away by Hugh (by his dictator pal Nick
Simicich to another LIST), and Hugh is the only surviving NED in
Scuba-L
since Nick's massacre trying to CENSOR me on that LIST (plotted by
Hugh while I was in Cozumel), and resulted in kicking Bjorn, Mika,
Mike Wallace out instead ROTFLMAO and EVERYONE who was worth
anything in any scuba discussion in Scuba-L to a new list Scuba-SE.

Scuba-L had been moribund for sometimes, while Hugh was about the only
poster, generating a few posts a week instead of nearly 100 posts a DAY

during the NED and more scuba-friendly days.


Hugh later declared a PERMANENT GRUDGE on Bob Ling, because Bob
revealed (AFTER Hugh had cleared the matter with his superiors) that
Hugh had been blackmailed by one of Cochran's shills, Ralph Riggs,
at the time Hugh wasn't supposed to be posting on his job.


Grudge Holding Hugh is the ONLY REMAINING IDIOT who insists referring
to the Reef Fish as Bob Ling, even though google could find only TWO
threads of Bob's postings (both in 1995) that had the posting name
"Bob Ling" and the posting name "Reef Fish" retrieves ALL of Bob's
google-retrievable postings since 1992, and is the ONLY Reef Fish in

Because Grudge Holding tries in every way and every opportunity to

Hugh went so far as digging up a student newspaper article about
Bob, thinking that it would put Bob in a bad light because it
mentioned how Bob blasted the students in their "rate the professors".

This was in 2004, NEARLY TEN YEARS after the news article appeared and
FOUR YEARS after I retired!


Hugh certainly went a Loooooonnnnnng way to try to dig up what he
thought was DIRT to smear Reef Fish Bob in his profession.

In that article, I had EVIDENCE that the "student ratings" was rigged
in my case, because the person who ran the webpage was caught by me
when he THREW OUT an anon-submitted rating (by one of my students)
that was very favorable about my teaching. The FACT was stated in
the newspaper article, and when student who was caught red handed had
"no comment" according to the article. No wonder, both he and the
sponsoring society were glad that they were not SUED! When Hugh
asked for the actual ratings (which they had removed), they told
Hugh that's why those fraudulent "student" ratings were no longer
there!

What LENGTH wouldn't Hugh go to try to SMEAR me in my profession,
of which he knows NOTHING!

FACT:

If you do a advanced google search on author "Bob Ling", you'll find
NINE hits -- the first of which by "homo Bob Ling" obviously
posted by the Dickhead in rec.travel.cruises.

Of the OTHER Bob Lings, only the two threads in rec.scuba were by
THIS Bob.


FACT:

If you do the same advanced groups search using only "reef fish" as the

author, you'll find 6200 THREADS, in various ngs, dating back to 1992
(when the name Reef Fish was created just to separate my PROFESSIONAL
email from my SCUBA email). AFAIK, nobody else, since 1981, had used
"Reef Fish" as their posting "author" name.

In fact, it's a good bet anyone posting by the name "Bob Ling"
is NOT this Bob Ling, and the one using the posting name
"Reef Fish" IS teh scuba-posting Bob Ling.

So, IDIOT Ron Lee is not only ignorant about using the archives,
he was directing his ad-hominem attack (on the person, without
stating the SUBSTANCE of what was written) to the WRONG
Bob Lings of the world.


This Bob Ling is the one-and-only author known as "reef fish",
and whose Reef Fish (Large Nassau Grouper) came from the old
email address id, RFLNG, from which the acronym existed before
the Reef Fish name was created in 1992.

posted REASONS for doing so, to separate my SCUBA activities from
my other professional ones. It is NOT for hiding my identity as

EVERYONE who has been around the net about SCUBA for any amount of
time knows that I am Bob Ling, with or without your use of the
derogatory SUBJECT when you post.

If you (or anybody else) bother to use DejaNews and do the search
for R...@clemson.edu, you'll find THOUSANDS of postings there; and
if do an "author search" you'll find also THOUSANDS of MY postings,
all except ONE (in rec.humor recently) are SCUBA related.

Among these postings, anyone can find out plenty of information
about Bob Ling, most of which are IRRELEVANT to what I have to
say or post in SCUBA (my Ph.D. degree from Yale university, e.g.),
or my Professorship, including Visiting Full Professorships at

You would have to look hard to FIND them.

Here's the latest news about Bob Ling that should delight the
rec.scuba readers whether they are members of the Dysfunctional
Gang or not.

It turns out Bob Ling is a scuba diver who keeps in his house a
large Aquarium tank which houses many tropical fish, including
many of his favorites, such as a Nassau Grouper.

One day, Bob's Nassau Grouper turned belly up in the tank, usually
a sign that it's not well -- so Bob Ling took this Nassau Grouper
to the vet for examination.

As Bob Ling put the Nassau Grouper on the table, the vet pulled
out his stethoscope and listened to the fish's chest. After a moment
or two, the vet shook his head sadly and said,

"I'm so sorry, your Nassau Grouper has passed away."

"How can you be so sure," Bob Ling protested. "I mean, you haven't
done any testing on him or anything. He mightjust be in a coma or
something."

The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room, and
returned a few moments later with a black Labrador Retriever.

As Bob Ling looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs,
put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the Nassau
Grouper from head to anal fins. He then looked at the vet with sad
eyes and shook his head.

The vet patted the dog and took it out, and returned a few moments
later with a cat. The cat jumped up on the table and also sniffed
delicately at the Nassau Grouper. The cat sat back on its haunches,
shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.

The vet looked at Bob Ling and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this
is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead Nassau Grouper."

Then the vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and
produced a bill which he handed to Bob Ling.

Bob Ling, still in shock, took the bill.

"$450!", Bob cried, "$450 just to tell me my Nassau Grouper is dead?!!"


The vet shrugged. "I'm sorry. If you'd taken my word for it, the bill
would have been $20, but with the Lab work, the PET scan, and the Cat
Scan, it's now $450.00."
