| "aaron" <aaron1127@qwest.net> pounded away at his keyboard resulting in: :I'm thinking about trying a live aboard called Blackbeard's. :http://www.blackbeard-cruises.com/index.html :Has anyone been on this cruise or heard anything about it? I have not sailed with them. I have seen that they cost less than other liveaboards. I have heard that they are less comfortable. I have seen that they rock more than the Nekton boats. Quarters are cramped, there are no amenities, but if you have paid attention, you won't be surprised or disappointed. It's camping at sea by their own description. But it's great fun. The crews are fun, and people generally get along great. The diving is very good and plenty of it. For some people, it's an introduction to liveaboard diving, and they eventually decide they're willing to spend more and live more luxurious. For others, Blackbeards is an annual trip. I've done Blackbeards twice and would do it again. I've done a comparable trip on a boat called Avalon and would NOT do it again. I haven't done any of the more luxurious trips yet, but I am going on the Caribbean Explorer II in 25 days, and I'll let you know how that is. gc |
