I've been on T&C liveaboards 6 times, and definitely prefers them to any landbased operators. But I don't even know if there are T&C liveaboards anymore. I have always heard good things about Art Pickering's shop: http://www.provoturtledivers.com/PTDhome.html Also met Art at his shop (while waiting to fly back) and at scuba Expo shows in the US. A likable and knowledgeable kind of shop owner. You might want to check him out. -- Bob. |

| Went with Dive Provo Apr 2004 Good outfit, efficient friendly staff. Transport by Mini Bus to Turtle Cove or South Boat yard. Obviously you will pick the nearest outfit to where your staying. Dive Provo is at Ports Of Call on Grace Bay and picked from all hotels on grace bay when I was there http://www.diveprovo.com/ Diver1 "Eddie G" <mickeddie@(removeme)comcast.net> wrote in message news:MvmdnWrYL9a0Ko7eRVn-1Q@comcast.com... > I read about Dive Provo from Trip Advisor and wanted to ask if anyone here > has any other suggestions? T&C still has liveaboards. I did the Aggressor last year, it is a completely rredone boat. The old T&C Aggressor is being redone for deployment to Utilla. Had a great time and prefer this type of diving to shore based. -- -------------------- Scott F. It must be still running, as of last week. The last time I dived on the T&C Aggressor was in 1999, back to back with the Cayman Aggressor. It was in really bad shape, with a temporary captain, transient DM, and equipment needing overhaul. original T&C Aggressor that started in 1992. I dived on it and the PhD Sea Dancer that year, back to back, just for comparison. In 1999, I hand-carried some Aggressor stuff from that Aggressor to Alan Roberts (Manager of the Fleet) who was substituting for Captain of the Cayman Aggressor. But the DIVING was great, on either Fleet. http://www.aggressor.com/subpage6.php > The old T&C Aggressor is being redone for deployment to Utilla. Had a great time and prefer this type of diving to shore based. I think it'll have a difficult time getting enough passengers to dive Utila on a liveabord, just as both the Aggressor and PhD Fleets had a tough time with theie Bay Islands operations, even when they discounted those charters to several hundred dollars less than the rest of the Caribbean. http://www.peterhughes.com/ Peter Hughes has apparently pulled the plug out of the T&C liveaboard -- for many years served by the Sea Dancer. -- Bob. |

| Just back from 2+ weeks there. 6th year. Go with Ocean Vibes, he'll pick you up on the beach if you are staying on Grace Bay. Small fast boat. No more than 10 per dive, usually 6. Turtle divers & Dive Provo are good operations no doubt, they only have BIG BOATS, lots of divers in the water at the same time, reduced interaction with the sea creatures that scoot at the sights and sounds of big groups. TCI is fabulous diving! |

| Thanks, Chip. This will be my 4th time to T&C (last time was 9 years ago!!) and I am very excited to be going back. Regarding Ocean Vibes, are clients gear stowed at their shop and they go there after picking you up on the beach, or do I have to have my gear with me while standing on the beach waiting? I am staying at the Royal West Indies which I believe is on Grace Bay. Thansk!! Eddie |
