Dave, next time you give Chilly a jiggle, just remember to do it north
of the border.

For me one of the best dive site which alot of people are no aware is an
Atoll called Layang- layang
Island, its in the south china sea off Borneo.I worked there for 3 years in
98. During the hammer season you can see a wall of hammerheads up to approx
500 of them, i seen many times small groups go up to 5m of water.

Once in a while u can catch a glimse of the thresher shark. You guys wont
believe what ive seen all at this little atoll. Hammerheads, thesher, mantas,
porpoise, whale shark, dolphins, silvertip and even killer whales. Those r
just some of the highlights that ive seen. Small stuff and the coral growth
is untouched. Vissibility wow!

If you guys have a chance go there atleast once in your lifetime. But i must
warn you, if u go there you will be spoilt forever!

I had planned a trip there last year untill i read reports about it being
on the flight path of migratory birds, these birds descend on the atol in
such numbers that the smell of guano is unbearable, it apparently smells
like amonia and you cant get away from it.
Layang Layang is about 300 miles north west of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah,
Northern Borneo, you get there by helicopter from KK and the flights are
once or twice a week, so once on there you are stuck untill the next
flight comes in, which is weather dependant........

But having said that, i had also heard the tales of countless Hammerheads
etc, so i guess you have to decide which outweighs the other.....
