| A bunch of us did it a couple of years ago, like '01 and it was FANTASTIC! They have two tenders, port side and starboard. Both never go to the same location during the day. Their crew were unbelievable! Great bunch. The dive guides know the locations better than the backs of their hands. If I remember, I think I did like 5 or 6 dives a day. Night dives were always available, for those that wanted. They all varied in depth. A couple of the planes were in like 60' or so. NITROX is available too. We usually did our last dive on NITROX. If I could save the money I would go back with them in a second. No complaints here! G.L. | > Does anyone have recent experience with this liveaboard? How many > dives does it really offer each day? Looking for comments SS Thorrfin Yes, me and my wife had ten nights on board in 03 (i think it was 03), the diving is awesome, its deep in places as well as dark, if you have camera you will need lights for video and wide angle for stills. There are mandatory 3 or 4 deco stops on each ascent. The guides ( i remember Kent as being very good) know their way around incredibly well, they can drop a line from the tender to the bow or the stern of the wreck when i could'nt even see the wreck........there is little or no current to speak of so not prolific in fish life. You do penetrate the wrecks so again you need good torches, not ones with multiple batteries like dive center torches, good recharchable i reccomend. Or HID...... The boat is very stable, it does not move about in "rough" seas, i dont mean really rough......i just mean that it is stable and you should'nt feel "sea sick" if your prone to that. There are 5 - 6 dives available daily, we did'nt do that many, you do dive on singles unless you want twins which i think i saw some available, they may have been the captains or Dan's the divemaster. Nitrox is available. There is a jaquizzi on the back deck which is great for after a dive, and a sun deck on the top deck, dont forget to do a tour of the engine room, this is great to watch as the old steam engine and its great pistons can be seen working. The crew were good, the captain is Canadian (Lance) and Dan the divemaster is American, the rest are locals, its kinda family run.........the food is ok, plain and simple rather than haute cuisine. What about the cabins? I understand they've made some improvements in recent years, but when I was there in 1993, the accommodations were rather rustic. cheers... .......curt |
