Awh, gee, another scubaboard-wannabe... Around here, we don't like
censorship (aka 'moderated' groups)...

For example, the following statement just doesn't have the same feel
as the original:

"Welcome to USENET, has anyone told you to **** off yet?"

Hi Allison,

As you can see 'owned' boards are not well recieved. They segment the
community, are censored, and aren't around for very long. USENET has
been around since the dawn of time - all postings can be searched and
if I or anyone else dissapears it will still be here. If something
happens to your friend all the knowledge that was redirected to that
forum will be lost forever when the site gets shutdown. If I was on
his/her board my posts can be *poof* deleted because i took a critical
position, not something that encourages open discussion. I'll stick
with the democracy/anarchy of NNTP.

The website has been there for a number of years and has only just started a
forum. It's not moderated either.

I looked at the site and I am frankly quite confused by the weird
postings there. Many of the postings have some pretty messed up words
inserted willy-nilly in them making the discussions almost
un-intelligible (is that a word?). Have you been hacked or are the
members there trying to intentionally make things hard to read to keep
the straight headed out?
