You get more species and numbers of animals in Galapagos, and the opportunity to dive alternate areas, given the size of the archipelago, if the prime spots have bad conditions. Not to mention you fly into Galapagos rather than beat across the ocean for 30-32 hours each way. |

It's a landbased operator in Costa Rica. It does not have a web page either. The only BOATS that go to Cocos Island, besides the Japanese boats that are poachers of sharks, are the liveaboards: http://www.aggressor.com/oa_home.html http://www.underseahunter.com/ and the Sea Hunter (I don't have a web page reference for it) -- Bob. |

| Thanks for the info! FYI: here is a link to Bill Beard's web site: http://www.billbeardcostarica.com I also found another operation that goes out to Coco Island: Agua Rica Dive Center http://www.tamarindo.com/agua/ They have a (small?) sail boat that goes out there when they have 6+ divers and will take reservations 4 in advance. It is a long way to the island, if I had to do it I think I'd rather do it in a large boat. I'm going to Costa Rica primarily for a backpacking trip and want to get in some diving on the side- I think I'll stick w/ Cano island (20km off shore) -lance smith "David Rod Keller" <davidrodkeller@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:<dfFJa.569$xF5.25466@news.uswest.net>... > "Reef Fish" <Large_Nassau_Grouper@Yahoo.com> wrote in message > news:8fb7380b.0306230312.a8a0efa@posting.google.co m... > > outside@ziggyworks.com (lance smith) wrote in message > news:<36f85e46.0306222132.50b105a4@posting.google. com>... > > > Coco Island is quite a ways off the mainland of Costa Rica, are these > > > the only operators/boats that go there? > > > > > > Okeanos Aggressor > > > Bill Beard Costa Rica > > > Seas Hunter & Underseas Hunter > > > > AFAIK, Bill Beard's Diving Safaris in Costa Rica does NOT have a > > boat that goes to Cocos Island.
