Post Antarctic Diving

I will be traveling to the Antarctica Peninsula from Ushuaia by Research ship for two weeks scuba diving in Feb 09. I have purchased a JVC HDVG7 videorecorder and housing.

Question 1/ Anyone out there had actual experience in Antarctic scuba diving ?

Question 2/ Has any one out there found a good HD Video Editor for JVC TOD Files that wont cost an arm and a leg to edit video as I plan to each night on expedition putting together a documentary of this once in a lifetime journey ?
