Admittedly, I did all my diving about 20 miles away, in Looe Key. The
water there was crystal clear most of the time. Maybe Key West is
different.

Diving conditions in Key West are quite possibly the least reliable in the
Keys chain. When I'm in the area, I tend to stay in Key West but dive about
30 miles up the road, sometimes on the same sites Dan likes.
