| Hi all. Will be in Vanuatu in May '05, and am seeking opinions on accom and dive operators on Santo (the President Coolidge beckons!). Have googled somewhat and Aquamarine seems to have the goods, but there's nothing like having first-hand reports. Anyone out there had experience over there? Comments and opinions please. TIA Max |

Trip report on my website. If I were going again, I'd give the active volcano on Tanna a look. | We visited last year and dived with Allan Power Dive Tours (http://www.allan-power-santo.com/) and they were brilliant, Allan has dived the Coolidge over 15,000 times and has some great stories to tell when you're back at his house for tea and buns after the second dive. They were the same price as Aquamarine but we were sold with the entertainment that Allan gave us! We had intended to do some reef dives as well but ended up diving the Coolidge for 7 days and a dive at million dollar point, amazing stuff! Depending on your budget would recommend staying at the Deco Stop lodge http://www.decostop.com.vu , unfortunately it was full when we were there but we went for a look round and it looked really nice and friendly. We ended up staying in a guesthouse right opposite the dive centre (Allan's house) it was incredibly good value and allowed us to afford more diving!. Stayed in the Hotel Santo for one night before we moved to the guesthouse and that was quite nice and had slightly cheaper fan rooms at the back of the hotel, again dead opposite the dive centre. Dived with some Aussies that stayed at the Bougainville Resort further out of town and they said it was pretty good as well. Both Allan Power and Aquamarine will pick up from all these hotels so no problems there. Hope you get the trip sorted out and have a fantastic time, it's an incredible experience.
